Customizing the AI Assistant Avatar

Wherever the AI Assistant is represented in the chat — the welcome screen, each reply, the thinking indicator, the streaming reply, and the conversation-list header — WebWorks Reverb 2.0 renders an avatar. Since 2026.1, that avatar is the image configured for the assistant on the WebWorks Platform. An assistant with no avatar configured keeps the generic icon, and so does an avatar whose image cannot be loaded, so output for an assistant without an avatar looks exactly as it did before. The avatar container is styled from the $assistant_avatar_* variables in _colors.scss and _icons.scss, which set the background tint and the generic icon. Those values suit the icon. A photographic avatar often reads better in a plain container, so to style the two states apart, target these class names from custom.scss:
