Shell Projects

The shell is an ordinary Reverb 2.0 project whose output contributes the site files. There are two ways to produce one:

• A project with no groups. A project containing no source document groups generates the complete chrome with an empty table of contents — ready for parcels to be composed in.

• The Generate Groups target setting. Disabling Generate Groups in Target Settings makes any content-carrying project build a content-free shell: the full chrome, but no group-derived files. This is convenient for QA and for migrating an existing project into a federation, because you can produce the shell from a project you already have without deleting its content.
