Installation Order for ePublisher Components

ePublisher Express, ePublisher Designer, and ePublisher AutoMap are independent components: you can install any combination of them on a computer, in any order. The only installer with a dependency is WebWorks ePublisher Legacy Formats, which requires that ePublisher Designer or ePublisher AutoMap is already installed on the computer.

Note: All ePublisher components installed on a computer must be the same version and build number, because the components co-locate with each other. Install every component from the same release, and when you upgrade one component, upgrade them all.

Review the following options when deciding which components to install:

• If you want to generate output using Stationery created by a Stationery designer, install ePublisher Express on the computer.

• If you want to design Stationery and generate output, install ePublisher Designer on the computer.

• If you want to schedule and automate output generation, install ePublisher AutoMap on the computer.

• If you want to generate output using the formats provided by the WebWorks ePublisher Legacy Formats package, install WebWorks ePublisher Legacy Formats after you install ePublisher Designer or ePublisher AutoMap on the computer.
