Getting Started with the WebWorks Platform

This section walks you through connecting your WebWorks Reverb 2.0 output to the WebWorks Platform and turning on the AI Assistant that ships with ePublisher 2026.1. Follow it in order: create your account first, then set up a Reverb 2.0 target that talks to the Platform.

What You'll Do

  1. Create your WebWorks Platform account and sign in — register with an approved email address, confirm it, and log in to the Platform.

  2. Set up a Reverb 2.0 target and AI Assistant — create an Assistant on the Platform, point your target at it, generate the knowledge base, and publish.

  3. Optimize your AI Assistant's answers — refine the Assistant's Instructions and knowledge, and test it with a repeatable question list.

What You Need

ePublisher 2026.1

ePublisher Designer, Express, or AutoMap 2026.1, with a project that builds a WebWorks Reverb 2.0 target. The AI Assistant settings described here are available only in 2026.1 and later. For downloads and licensing, see Downloading ePublisher Installers.

A WebWorks Platform account

An account on the WebWorks Platform. See Create your account.

A place to publish your output

Reverb 2.0 output served over http: or https: so the AI Assistant can reach its Platform service. The Assistant tab can be hidden automatically when the same output is opened locally over file: — see Hide AI Tab when file local.

How the Pieces Fit Together

The AI Assistant draws on two things you control:

  • The published help ePublisher generates from your documents — the content the Assistant cites and links back to. ePublisher emits this as a knowledge base archive (knowledge-*.zip) next to your Reverb output for you to upload to the Platform.

  • The Platform Assistant itself — a configured assistant (with its own ID, model, and knowledge base) that your Reverb output connects to through the Assistant ID target setting.

Your Reverb 2.0 target ties the two together: turn on Generate Assistant, paste in the Assistant ID of the Platform Assistant you created, and turn on Generate Knowledge Base so each build produces the content to upload. The next two topics walk through both halves.

For a reference description of every AI setting and how the knowledge base archive is structured, see AI Features in the WebWorks Reverb 2.0 output documentation.
