Daily preview allowance
The daily preview allowance pays for answers in an Assistant's Preview tab, so you can build and test without spending credits. It belongs to the organization: every Assistant in it, and everyone who previews them, draws on the same allowance.
How the allowance works
Area | Rule |
|---|---|
Refill | Back to its full amount at 00:00 UTC each day; what is left doesn't carry over |
Amount | Shown on the welcome screen after signup, and on the How billing works card in Settings > Billing until the organization's first purchase |
Progress | Daily preview allowance on the Preview tab shows the share used today. Every member sees it; the organization's balance stays with the owner and billing managers |
Free model | Preview answers from an Assistant set to the free model don't use the allowance |
Each preview answer shows its cost, which is what the same answer costs in deployment. See Test an Assistant in Preview.
After the allowance is used
The answer that uses up the allowance is still covered. After it, the day's preview answers are billed like answers in deployment, from the included allowance first and then from purchased credits, and the bar reads Allowance used — further previews today bill your credits · resets daily. They are listed in View all transactions as messages from the Assistant. Anyone who can edit an Assistant can preview it, so past the allowance any member's testing spends the organization's credits.
Preview answers billed past the allowance count toward the Assistant's daily budget, so a day of heavy testing can bring a deployed Assistant to its budget sooner.
When the included allowance and purchased credits are used up as well, preview answers run on the free model, and a notice on the Preview tab says so. See The free model.
