Organizations
An organization owns everything built on the WebWorks Platform: its Assistants, the plan and credits that pay for them, and the people who work on them. You sign in with your own account and work inside an organization, and you can belong to several.
What an organization holds
What | Who manages it |
|---|---|
Assistants, with their Knowledge Bases and installs | Every member |
Members, invitations and roles | Owners and admins invite and remove people; owners change roles |
Plan, credits and payment method | The owner and the organization's billing managers |
Name | Owners and admins |
Billing email | The owner and the organization's billing managers |
Your account holds only what is yours: your email address, password, display name and profile picture. When someone leaves or is removed, the organization keeps every Assistant and file. See Roles and permissions.
Settings > Organization also shows the Organization ID, the identifier to quote when you contact support at customerservice@webworks.com.
The billing email
Receipts and payment notices go to the organization's billing email, and so do the Platform's notices about its Assistants, such as a daily budget reached, the knowledge storage cap reached, or a website that keeps failing to import. It starts as the email address of the person who created the organization. The owner and billing managers change it in Settings > Organization.
Your first organization
The first time you sign in, the Platform creates an organization for you named Default Organization, with you as its owner and your email address as its billing email. The welcome at your first sign-in offers to name it, and you can rename it any time in Settings > Organization. You get this organization even when you join the Platform through an invitation.
Only a person's first organization receives the one-time signup credit. See Credits.
The active organization
You work in one organization at a time: the one named in the organization switcher at the top of every page. AI Assistants, Dashboard and Settings show that organization's Assistants, usage, members and billing. To work in another, open the switcher and choose it under Switch to. At your next sign-in the Platform reopens the organization you last worked in.
Your role can differ in each organization you belong to. The switcher also lists invitations waiting for you, under Pending invitations, and Create organization there starts another organization with you as its owner. See Accept an invitation.
