Put an AI Assistant on your website
By the end, an Assistant answers visitors on your website from your site's own pages, as an Embedded Assistant. No ePublisher is involved. You need a public website whose pages you can edit, or whose shared layout you can.
Create your account
Go to https://platform.webworks.com. On the Sign In page, click Sign up here.
Fill in the form, agree to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, and click Sign Up.
Confirm your email address from the message you receive, then sign in.
The first time you sign in, a short welcome asks you to name your organization and choose a plan. You can continue on Pay-As-You-Go and change plans later.
See Create an account and sign in for details.
Create the Assistant
In AI Assistants, click Create Assistant. The new Assistant opens on its Configure tab.
In Name, enter the name visitors will see, such as your company's name.
Under Origin Domains, enter your website's domain, such as
example.com. See Set an Assistant's Origin Domains.Click Save Changes. The Origin Domain must be saved before the next step can use it.
Import your website
In Knowledge Base, find Websites. The address field already holds your first Origin Domain.
Click Import. The card shows Importing… while the pages are read, then how many pages were imported.
Wait for the Knowledge Base to finish indexing before you test.
See Import a website.
Write the Instructions
In Instructions, say what the Assistant is and how it should answer: who it speaks for, what it helps with, and what it should do when your site doesn't cover a question.
Click Save Changes.
See Write an Assistant's Instructions.
Test it in Preview
Open the Preview tab, or use the Preview pane beside Configure in a wide window, and ask the questions your visitors ask. Each answer shows what it would cost in deployment; testing within the daily preview allowance is free. See Test an Assistant in Preview.
Put it in deployment
On the Configure tab, go to In Deployment. Any requirement still missing is listed there.
Turn the In Deployment switch on. The header shows In Deployment.
See Put an Assistant in deployment.
Add it to your site
On the Install tab, under Any website, click Copy.
Paste the script tag before the closing
</body>tag of every page that should show the Assistant, or once in the layout your pages share.Open one of those pages. An Ask a question button appears at the bottom right; click it and ask something.
If the button doesn't appear, see The Assistant doesn't appear or doesn't answer.
